History
- 1976- Sunburst Electronics is founded by Robert Heiges as an engineering
design/consultant organization.
- 1978- Sunburst enters the contract electronic manufacturing business.
- 1982- Sunburst expands operations at 2910 Pittsburgh Avenue in Erie, PA
- 1986- Sunburst is purchased by Bliley
Technologies, a manufacturer of crystals and crystal oscillators.
- 1994- Sunburst moves to a larger facility in the Grandview Business park to accommodate
contract manufacturing growth.
- 1998- Sunburst and parent company, Bliley Technologies, are purchased by Roger Richards.
An initiatiative toward equipment and facility upgrade begins.
- 2002- Sunburst designs/constructs and occupies a 31,000 square foot facility on the Erie,
PA Bayfront
- 2002- Sunburst achieves ISO 9001 registration
- 2003- Sunburst is awarded "Manufacturing Employer of the Year" by the Economic
Development Corporation of Erie County.
- 2005 - Sunburst expands SMT capacity through Capital equipment purchases
- 2006 - Sunburst expands service offering to include R6 compliant RoHS manufacturing
- 2007 - Sunburst gains J-STD-001 designation
